BGF Retail announced on the 21st that its convenience store CU will launch "CUpay," an integrated simple payment service of PocketCU, on the 25th.
CUpay is a service that integrates the previously separated simple payment methods-CU Money, simple payment accounts, and cards-within PocketCU into one, allowing customers to make payments in a more intuitive and convenient way.

For example, products that previously required payment with CU Money to receive a discount will now be eligible for discounts through CUpay as well.
CU plans to significantly enhance exclusive payment benefits in the future to increase the use of "PocketCU." Starting September 1, customers who pay with CUpay will receive additional discounts and free gifts, an extra 1% CU point accumulation, and a doubling of the CU Keeping validity period.
First, when paying with CUpay, about 200 products will offer additional discounts and free gifts. For example, seven types of CU's home meal replacement (HMR) products-Geummiok, Apple House, and Agodeokbokki-will be sold as part of a 1+1 promotion. For 12 types of Lalasweet pints, a 10% additional discount will be added to the 1+1 event.
When using a CUpay account, customers will receive an additional 1% accumulation on the payment amount. VIP customers can accumulate up to 3%, up from the previous 2%. In addition, when keeping a +1 product paid with CUpay, the validity period for the free gift will be extended from 30 days to 60 days.
The Keeping service will also be improved. A "Keeping Storage" section will be newly established on the PocketCU home main screen, allowing customers to easily check the products they are keeping through CU Keeping. The CU Keeping service, which was previously only available for offline purchases, will be expanded to include online delivery and pickup as well.
Park Byungho, head of BGF Retail's Online Platform Team, said, "The launch of CUpay will not only improve payment convenience through integrated simple payments, but also increase customer loyalty by providing exclusive benefits. Going forward, CU will continue to maximize user convenience through ongoing upgrades of PocketCU."
