The association reportedly became aware of the incident immediately after returning to Korea and received written statements from the players regarding the circumstances. The players were excluded from the national team training camp, and the association plans to hold a Sports Fairness Committee meeting on the 29th to discuss disciplinary action for causing a disturbance during the national team’s participation in the tournament.
Meanwhile, the Korean Sepaktakraw national team won bronze medals in the men's team regu, women's team regu, and women's quad events at this tournament. The national team first participated in the men's team regu event at the 1998 Bangkok Asian Games and won a silver medal in the men's circle event at the World Championship the same year, marking its first-ever international podium finish. The team has continued to achieve results in international competitions since then.
