'City of Ten Million Roses Pohang' Launches Rose Goods Design Contest

Pohang City's 'City of Ten Million Roses Pohang' project is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

The city will hold the 'City of Ten Million Roses Pohang Goods Design Contest' to strengthen its city brand by developing souvenirs that symbolize the city flower, the rose, and to expand these as cultural and tourism assets.

The contest categories include manufactured goods, crafts, miscellaneous items, and processed foods that can represent Rose City Pohang. Anyone interested, whether individuals or businesses, can participate.

Applications will be accepted from August 21 to 29, either in person or by mail, at the Greenway Promotion Division of the Blue City Project Group (3rd floor, Blue City Project Group, Donghaean-ro, Nam-gu).

Entries will be judged based on symbolism, marketability, aesthetics, creativity, and overall quality. One grand prize, two excellence prizes, and two encouragement prizes will be awarded.

The winners will be guaranteed goods sales worth a total of 2.5 million KRW and will also be given the opportunity to participate in and sell their products at a booth during the 'Pohang Sea Rose Festival' scheduled for October.

Lee Kyungsik, head of the Greenway Promotion Division, said, "We hope that the souvenirs discovered through this contest will promote Rose City Pohang to domestic and international tourists and make a significant contribution to spreading the city brand."
