National Pukyong University Holds Proud International Student Award Ceremony

Ten outstanding students, including Wu Lei, Vo Truong Thien, and Omatsu Akane, who were selected from among graduate and undergraduate international students graduating in the first semester of the 2025 academic year, received the award on this day.

The recipients of the Proud International Student Award were nominated by their respective departments or majors for their excellent research achievements, outstanding academic performance, or contributions to the development of the university, and were then selected for the honor.

In particular, as the number of international students at National Pukyong University continues to increase and their achievements become more prominent, starting this semester, three out of the ten awardees were elevated from the International Exchange Office Director's Award to the President's Award.

This time, Wu Lei was appointed as an assistant professor at Wuxi Institute of Technology in China, Vo Truong Thien was recognized for publishing (or scheduled to publish) 13 papers in international academic journals, and Omatsu Akane contributed to promoting the university overseas as the official public relations ambassador of National Pukyong University.

As of April this year, National Pukyong University has 1,648 international students from 63 countries enrolled in undergraduate, master's, doctoral, integrated master's and doctoral programs, exchange programs, training courses, and dual degree programs.
