Suryun-myeon in Seongju County (headed by Kim Kyungran) operated the "Byeolgoul Mobile Laundry Service" at the Gyejeong 1-ri Dalmok Senior Center on August 18.
On the same day, a red bean shaved ice sharing event was also held for seniors exhausted by the heat.
The mobile laundry service, which has been conducted a total of eight times in Suryun-myeon, is a volunteer program that visits villages to wash and dry heavy laundry for seniors and vulnerable groups.
Ye Younggil, the head of Gyejeong 1-ri, said, "I would like to thank everyone involved in the mobile laundry service for visiting seniors who are suffering from the heat. I hope that this wonderful program will continue next year so that more neighborhoods can benefit from the mobile laundry service."
Kim Kyungran, head of Suryun-myeon, said, "We will do our best to make Suryun a happy place for seniors through programs such as the Byeolgoul Mobile Laundry Service and the red bean shaved ice sharing event, which help improve the residential and living environments in vulnerable areas."
