On August 18, the Woomi Hope Foundation announced that it had provided a total of 155 million won in scholarships to 85 descendants of national merit recipients.
The foundation held a scholarship award ceremony on August 14 at the Children’s Foundation Building in Jung-gu, Seoul, in collaboration with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation. Scholarships of 3 million won were awarded to university students, and 1 million won each to middle and high school students.

원본보기 아이콘The event was attended by scholarship recipients and their parents, Choi Byungwan, Director General of Welfare Promotion at the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, Lee Choonseok, Secretary General of the Woomi Hope Foundation, and Shin Jeongwon, Head of Social Contribution Cooperation at the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation.
Since 2008, the Woomi Hope Foundation has continued its scholarship program, providing approximately 2.2 billion won to 1,840 individuals to date. The foundation also operates the 'Heroes Family Program,' which offers career mentoring, commemorative gifts, and family trips for the underage children of fallen or deceased military and police officers, as well as firefighters.
Secretary General Lee Choonseok stated, "We are committed to honoring the noble intentions of national merit recipients and striving to ensure that the next generation can live in a warmer nation," adding, "We will not stop at remembrance, but will respond with tangible change."
