It was jointly organized by eight startup-centered universities, including Busan National University and Jeonbuk National University, as well as 27 other institutions such as Busan Technopark.
As part of the Startup-Centered University Project promoted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development, Busan National University participated in this expo. The university announced plans to leverage the growth potential of the Vietnamese market to expand export opportunities for startups and accelerate their global scaling up.
Busan National University selected three companies among the Southeast region startups supported by the project-Double O (memory semiconductor data analysis), Nanugi World (educational support services), and Trip Builder (AI travel infrastructure)-to dispatch to the event, based on their innovative technologies and ideas.
The participating companies explored the potential for actual export contracts through one-on-one business meetings with local buyers and investors, and also conducted on-site research reflecting trends in the Vietnamese market. In addition, they expanded their local partnership base by taking part in various networking events and auxiliary programs.
Kang Jeongeun, Director of the Busan National University Startup Support Group, stated, "This Mega Earth Expo was an important opportunity for our startups to take their first step into the vast and emerging Vietnamese market," adding, "We will continue to provide systematic support to help them establish themselves in the global market."
To discover promising global prospective entrepreneurs, the Busan National University Startup Support Group organized the '2025 Korea-Vietnam Global Startup Idea Competition (UNIV.STAR)' from August 10 to 16, in conjunction with the Mega Earth Expo, with participation from 11 domestic universities and 7 Vietnamese universities.
Four students who were finally selected by Busan National University participated in a preliminary domestic camp and then competed in the local competition in Vietnam, gaining opportunities to develop global startup capabilities and expand exchanges between domestic and international universities.
