Naju City in South Jeolla Province will decide the official names of the 'Bitgaram Complex Innovation Center' and the 'Living SOC Complex Center', both set to open early next year, together with its citizens.

According to Naju City, a naming contest will be held from August 18 to 31 to select names that are symbolic and approachable, so that the two facilities can become key hubs for daily life and culture in the region.

The 'Bitgaram Complex Innovation Center', currently under construction at 199 Bitgaram-dong, is being built on a 21,091-square-meter site, with one basement floor and five above-ground floors.

It is expected to become the city's largest multi-purpose cultural facility, featuring a swimming pool, lifelong learning center, youth culture center, and a multipurpose gymnasium, providing a space for both leisure and learning for citizens.

The 'Living SOC Complex Center', located at 383 Bitgaram-dong, is being constructed on a 4,639-square-meter site, with one basement floor and two above-ground floors.

Designed to enhance everyday convenience for local residents, the center will include a local food direct market, a children's library, and a toy library. Both buildings are scheduled to open in early 2026.

Anyone who is registered as a resident of Naju City or works at a local business is eligible to participate in the contest.

Applications can be submitted by scanning the QR code on the city’s website announcement or by filling out the application form and sending it via email.

Entries that best reflect the character and function of the facilities, while also being friendly and appealing, will have a higher chance of being selected.

The grand prize winner will receive a Naju Love Gift Certificate worth 500,000 won, the excellence prize winner will receive 300,000 won, and the encouragement prize winner will receive 100,000 won. The results are expected to be announced in September.

A city official stated, "These two facilities will be new multi-purpose spaces representing Naju City and will serve as symbolic places completed after a long wait. We look forward to creative suggestions from our citizens."
