As the special prosecutor team led by Min Jungki attempted to carry out a search and seizure at the People Power Party's central headquarters, Kim Moonsoo, a candidate for party leader, began an indefinite sit-in protest in opposition starting on the night of August 13. On August 15, Lee Junbae, the head of the Sejong City Party Committee, visited the protest site.
