According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, most regions will come under the influence of a high-pressure system moving eastward from the seas near Jeju Island this weekend, causing maximum perceived temperatures to rise to around 35 degrees Celsius.
On Saturday, August 16, the morning low is forecast to be around 26 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs reaching 32 to 35 degrees. On Sunday, August 17, morning temperatures are expected to range from 21 to 25 degrees, with daytime highs climbing to around 35 degrees.
An official from the Korea Meteorological Administration advised, "For the time being, some areas in Gwangju and Jeonnam may experience tropical nights. The risk of heat-related illnesses is high, so people should refrain from outdoor activities and outings, and pay close attention to food hygiene management."
