Content AI solutions company 4by4 has achieved a turnaround in EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) in the second quarter of this year.
On August 14, 4by4 announced that it recorded an EBITDA of approximately 1.4 billion KRW in the second quarter, successfully returning to profitability. In contrast to last year's first half, when the company posted an EBITDA loss of about 3 billion KRW, it achieved a profit of over 300 million KRW in the first half of this year.
EBITDA indicates that a company is generating cash through its business operations and is commonly used as a metric to show a company's cash-generating capability.
4by4's second-quarter revenue reached 9.1 billion KRW, marking an increase of about 31.5% compared to 6.9 billion KRW in the same period last year. However, due to a one-time loss recorded in the first quarter, first-half revenue decreased by approximately 1 billion KRW year-on-year. The operating loss for the second quarter was about 90 million KRW, a decrease of around 97% compared to 4.1 billion KRW in the same period last year.
A 4by4 representative explained, "Thanks to proactive efforts to strengthen order-taking capabilities and organizational efficiency since the end of last year, revenue has increased every quarter, and operating losses have rapidly declined."
4by4 has recently been rapidly scaling up its revenue by consecutively winning public sector projects commissioned by local governments nationwide.
The 4by4 representative added, "The aggressive expansion of immersive content production sales in our video production division has led to improved performance this quarter."
They further stated, "The image enhancement AI solutions division is also conducting various POCs and collaborations with OTT platforms, broadcasters, and medical institutions, so we expect explosive growth in this business segment going forward."
