Midas KOSPI Active ETF Achieves 29.3% Return Over 3 Years and 7 Months

Midas Asset Management announced on August 13 that the Midas KOSPI Active ETF recorded a return of 29.3% from 2022 through August 7, 2025. During the same period, it outperformed the KOSPI, which rose by 8.4%, by 20.9 percentage points (P).

Midas Asset Management developed its artificial intelligence (AI) management system in 2020. This system automatically selects stocks by integrating real-time information collected by AI with factor-based analysis. It is evolving into a system that delivers these selections to each manager and analyst in stages, enabling immediate feedback and investment decisions.

The Midas Asset Management AI system extracts stocks through a three-step process: first, filtering out investment-ineligible stocks in advance; second, deriving strategies based on factor strategies and backtesting; and third, identifying undervalued stocks based on profitability and valuation criteria.

Midas Asset Management believes that its internal culture-summed up by the phrase "A good strategy begins with trust among managers"-has also contributed to higher returns. The fund managers at Midas Asset Management share their strategies and engage in daily discussions, with key points from these debates being used as training data for the AI system. The AI continues to evolve by learning from hundreds of millions of data points based on the intuition and experience of the managers.

The Midas Asset Management AI system tracks approximately 2,000 listed domestic stocks in real time, conducting comprehensive analyses of returns, disclosures, news, and earnings. It selects stocks by reflecting changes in market prices in real time throughout the trading day. This represents a significant advancement from the previous method, which relied solely on the previous day’s closing prices.

An ETF management representative at Midas Asset Management stated, "AI may still lag behind experienced fund managers when it comes to making precise judgments about individual stocks. However, AI has a unique strength in its ability to monitor all stocks in real time and detect abnormal signs at an early stage." The representative added, "We are striving to achieve outstanding performance by integrating the analyses of our managers with AI."
