Pohang Women Farmers Gather for a Time of Harmony and Communication

Capacity Building Training and Harmony Festival for 310 Women Farmers Successfully Held

Pohang City announced that the Pohang City Federation of the Korean Women Farmers Association, led by President Kim Shinyoung, held the "2025 Women Farmers Capacity Building Training and Harmony Festival" on the 12th at the Pohang University Gymnasium.

This event was organized to enhance the professionalism of women farmers and to promote communication and unity among members. More than 160 members and guests, including Deputy Mayor Jang Sangkil, attended to discuss ways to strengthen the management capabilities of women farmers in Pohang and to advance sustainable agriculture and rural communities.


During the pre-event program, members of the association presented a lively "Our Sound Hanmadang" performance. The first part of the main program included an arm-wrestling game and a special lecture on MBTI.


The second part, the Harmony Festival, featured a variety of activities such as talent shows, recreational programs, and team-based cooperative games, allowing participants to laugh, enjoy themselves, and build stronger friendships.


Deputy Mayor Jang Sangkil stated, "The development of agriculture in Pohang is thanks to the dedication and hard work of women farmers," and added, "We will continue to provide unwavering support so that you can work in agriculture with pride."


President Kim Shinyoung expressed, "I hope this event served as a meaningful time for encouragement and sharing knowledge with one another," and pledged, "We will continue to do our utmost to promote the rights and interests of women farmers and to advance local agriculture."


The Pohang City Federation of the Korean Women Farmers Association, established in 2008, is a cooperative of women farmers with 310 active members. The organization continues to carry out various projects and exchange activities to improve the rights and interests of rural women and to revitalize agriculture in the region.
