Jeongeup City to Hold 80th Liberation Day Celebration on the 15th

Screening of Commemorative Video, Memorial Address, and Congratulatory Speech in Order

Jeongeup City in North Jeolla Province will hold a celebration ceremony at 10 a.m. on the 15th at Yeonji Art Hall to commemorate the 80th Liberation Day, honoring the sacrifices of the patriotic martyrs and reflecting on the meaning of liberation.

According to the city on the 11th, about 180 people are expected to attend the ceremony, including Mayor Lee Haksoo, National Assembly member Yoon Junbyung, provincial and city council members, heads of veterans' organizations, heads of institutions and organizations, and citizens.


The event will begin with a salute to the national flag, followed by the screening of a Liberation Day commemorative video, commemorative and congratulatory speeches, singing of the Liberation Day song, and three cheers of "Manse," all conducted in a solemn and reverent manner.


Through this event, the city aims to honor the spirit of sacrifice of the patriotic martyrs and fallen heroes who gave their lives for the nation, and to reflect on the value of liberation together with its citizens.


Mayor Lee Haksoo stated, "Let us honor the noble spirits of those who devoted themselves to our country, and I hope all citizens will come together as one to share the joy of that day of liberation. I also ask that everyone display the national flag at their homes on Liberation Day to express their love for the country."


Meanwhile, the city plans to launch a campaign to display the national flag in cooperation with major institutions and organizations, and will promote the meaning of Liberation Day through various media, including its website, social media, and community newsletters. Through these efforts, the city aims to spread a culture of honoring veterans and foster an atmosphere of citizen participation.
