The Yeonam Scholarship Foundation has supported scholarships for high school and university students in Jeju every year for local youth. Starting this year, the foundation is collaborating with Jeju Cyprus to run a support program for promising golf players in the region. For this year’s selection, 18 students?six each from elementary, middle, and high school divisions?were chosen based on their performance at the 1st Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Superintendent’s Cup Junior Championship.
A representative from Cyprus stated, “We plan to continue the Jeju golf scholarship program to support the dreams and passion of promising golf players,” adding, “We hope that the scholarships and free golf rounds will provide practical help for improving their skills.”
Cyprus is located on Jeju Island, which boasts a stunning natural environment. Hallasan Mountain and seven oreums surround the course. The 36-hole course coexists with the surrounding environment without damaging slopes or nature. It is famous as a beautiful golf course where various flowers bloom throughout all four seasons. With a golf hotel and village on site, it is also popular as a stay-type golf resort.
