Shinsegae Centum City Academy Presents Diverse Autumn Courses with an 'Art' Focus

In particular, this semester features specially curated courses in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), allowing participants to explore a variety of topics through the medium of film.


On September 17, there will be a class titled "Wine in Films," where participants will delve into the world of Paul Cezanne, known as the 'father of modern painting,' and filmmaker and photographer Agnes Varda through French films such as "My Great Friend, Cezanne" and "Faces Places Loved by Varda," while also learning about and tasting wines featured in the films.


On September 18, the course "Tea Culture with Every Day a Good Day" will offer an opportunity to learn the art of tea ceremony while enjoying tea, and on November 14, a special class for VIP customers called "Coffee Scenes in Films" will explore the characteristics of coffee from different continents, accompanied by a tasting session featuring specialty beans.


There is also a wide selection of courses related to art and music.


Noteworthy courses include "Art Meets Film" (September 2 to November 11), which examines the lives of artists, and "Art Appreciation and Collection" (September 2 to November 11), which covers methods for appreciating artworks, as well as information on artwork prices and market outlook. Courses such as "Painters of the Century" and "Gombrich's History of Western Art" are quickly filling up, reflecting high interest in art lectures.


Music courses include "Film and Classical Music" (October 23 to November 23), where participants can enjoy music from films such as "Beethoven" and "A Man Called Ove" performed by a pianist. Other offerings include "Masterpiece Opera" (September 1 to November 3) and "Journey Through Classical Music" (September 4 to October 16), which make classical music and opera accessible and enjoyable.


A representative from Shinsegae Centum City Academy stated, "For this autumn semester, we have prepared a variety of courses that allow participants to explore art, including film, art, and music, so they can discover the joy of art in everyday life."
