The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced personnel appointments on August 7 for principals and directors, vice principals and vice directors, and education professionals, effective September 1. A total of 364 individuals are affected by these changes.
This round of appointments includes 188 principals and directors, 100 vice principals and vice directors, 27 supervisors and education researchers, and 49 assistant supervisors and assistant education researchers, involving promotions, transfers, and reassignments. As a result, 20 positions in kindergartens, 183 in elementary schools, and 161 in secondary schools will be filled by new personnel.
The Office explained that the appointments were made by taking into account changes in educational conditions within the province and the needs of schools, assigning talented individuals with both educational competence and leadership to appropriate positions. In particular, the Office emphasized its core policy of "glocal Jeonnam education, where the region and the world coexist," and highlighted efforts to ensure its stable implementation in schools.
Superintendent Kim Daejung stated, "Students are always at the center of education, and it is most important to maintain a balance between classroom instruction, school autonomy, and administrative support so that students can realize their dreams." He added, "Through these appointments, we will accelerate the transition to glocal Jeonnam education and a future-oriented education system, building on the field experience and expertise accumulated so far."
