Jeonnam NongHyup Provides Protective Supplies to Farmers Against Heatwave

NongHyup Jeonnam Headquarters, together with the Agricultural Policy Division of the Jeonnam Provincial Government, visited the Jeonnam Southwest Vegetable NongHyup Rural Workforce Brokerage Center on the 5th to provide guidelines and instructions for the prevention of heat-related illnesses and delivered protective supplies to safeguard the health of farmers during the heatwave.

The protective supplies delivered that day included 1,000 rest reminder stickers and 300 cool scarves to help prevent heat-related illnesses. These items were distributed through local NongHyup workforce brokerage centers to elderly farmers and those working outdoors or in greenhouse facilities.

Jeonnam NongHyup is making every effort to ensure the safety of farmers and prevent crop damage during the heatwave. The Agricultural Disaster Countermeasure Situation Room is in continuous operation to quickly assess crop damage, and cooling kits and portable cooling devices have been provided proactively. In addition, during the operation of the 'Nongchon Wangjin Bus,' a mobile medical welfare service, Jeonnam NongHyup is also providing guidance on the prevention of heat-related illnesses and distributing supplies as part of its heatwave response.

Lee Gwangil, head of Jeonnam NongHyup, stated, "Adequate rest and hydration are more important than anything else for the safety and health management of farmers during the ongoing heatwave," adding, "Jeonnam NongHyup will continue to work with local governments to carry out various support activities to ensure a safe farming environment."
