BNK Kyongnam Bank announced on the 5th that its financial services will be temporarily suspended from midnight to 9 a.m. on August 10 due to an upgrade of its computer system.
During the upgrade period, the following services will be unavailable: internet banking, mobile banking, telebanking, and ATM (automated teller machine) services; transfers to BNK Kyongnam Bank via other financial institutions' mobile banking or ATMs; and all other financial transactions using BNK Kyongnam Bank accounts.
However, the following services will remain available: Gyeongnam BC credit cards (check card transactions are not available), cash services using partner CD machines, and incident reporting through the customer center.
Park Jihoon, Head of IT Planning Department, said, "We sincerely apologize for the temporary inconvenience to our customers due to the computer system upgrade. We will ensure that the upgrade is carried out swiftly and accurately during the suspension period to minimize inconvenience to our customers. BNK Kyongnam Bank will continue to do its best to provide stable and improved services in the future."
Meanwhile, BNK Kyongnam Bank plans to operate a situation room to manage all tasks during the temporary suspension period, including checking progress at each stage and conducting monitoring in connection with the computer system upgrade.
