The Gwangju Employers Federation announced on the 5th that it will hold a special lecture for the 1,694th Friday Breakfast Forum on August 8 at the Convention Hall on the 3rd floor of the Holiday Inn Gwangju Hotel, inviting former Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Do Jonghwan under the theme "Asking the Way to Poetry."
Former Minister Do is currently a poet who debuted in 1984 through the literary magazine "Bundansidae Godumimaeul." In 1986, his poetry collection "Jeopsikkot Dangsin" became a phenomenal hit, making him a renowned poet. In 2021, he received the 23rd Baekbong Gentleman Award. He also served as a member of the National Assembly for the 19th, 20th, and 21st terms, during which he held positions as Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Chairman of the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee. His major works include "Lilac," "Salt," "The Time Farthest from Noon," and "Ivy," among many others.
This lecture will conclude with topics such as: a life with leisure, a life with soul, making politics soulful, practicing non-political politics, pursuing politics that never gives up even when it seems impossible, "Between Three and Five O'Clock," "The Time Farthest from Noon," "Lilac," "Salt," "Gitanjali 39," "A Novel is a Question," and "What Made O Aesun Live," among others.
