KORAIL Distribution Donates 30 Million Won to Support Recovery Efforts for Heavy Rainfall Victims

KORAIL Distribution announced on August 4 that it had donated a total of 30 million won in essential goods and monetary contributions to assist residents affected by heavy rainfall.

The recipients of this support are six areas designated as special disaster zones: Gapyeong in Gyeonggi Province, Seosan and Yesan in South Chungcheong Province, Sancheong and Hapcheon in South Gyeongsang Province, and Damyang in South Jeolla Province.

The KORAIL Distribution headquarters designated four regional offices (Eastern, Chungcheong, Honam, and Busan-Gyeongnam) to be responsible for the disaster areas, and has been operating a close support system centered on each office.

Relief supplies delivered by Korail Distribution Honam Headquarters to residents in flood-affected areas through Damyang County Office, Jeonnam, on the 31st of last month. The supplies included daily necessities worth a total of 5 million won, such as ion beverages. Provided by Korail Distribution

The headquarters donated monetary contributions through the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association on July 30, while the four regional offices prioritized the delivery of essential items such as bottled water, instant noodles, instant rice, and toilet paper according to the specific needs of the affected areas.

Each regional office is maintaining close communication with the respective local governments and is actively cooperating in delivering emergency supplies and participating in recovery efforts to ensure that support meets the actual needs on the ground.

Previously, in March, KORAIL Distribution also provided monetary contributions to support residents affected by the large-scale wildfires in Gyeongnam, Gyeongbuk, and Ulsan.

Park Junghyun, CEO of KORAIL Distribution, stated, "We deeply sympathize with the difficulties faced by residents in the affected areas and offer our heartfelt condolences," adding, "We will do our utmost to respond swiftly to disasters and provide meaningful assistance to local communities."
