Kookmin Bank to Establish 'KB Hope Finance Center' This Year and Expand Inclusive Finance

Support for Recovery of Low-Income Individuals and the Self-Employed
Free Services from Credit Consulting to Debt Adjustment Counseling

KB Kookmin Bank is expanding its inclusive finance support measures to help low-income individuals and self-employed people achieve real recovery and independence, while also strengthening the social safety net.

First, within this year, Kookmin Bank plans to establish the 'KB Hope Finance Center' to provide credit counseling services to customers who need credit recovery and debt adjustment. The credit counseling service will consist of 'credit issue consulting', which comprehensively considers credit scores and loan status; 'debt relief system guidance', which covers the bank's own debt adjustment, credit recovery, the Saechulbal Fund, personal rehabilitation, and bankruptcy systems; and 'inclusive finance support system guidance', which provides information on policy finance products and options for converting high-interest loans. These services will be available to everyone free of charge.

To give more people a chance to recover, Kookmin Bank will also expand the eligibility for its own debt adjustment program. Currently, the 'Personal Debtor Protection Act' limits debt adjustment to those with overdue loans of less than 30 million won. However, Kookmin Bank plans to extend support to customers with overdue loans of up to 50 million won. It is expected that this expansion will provide additional opportunities to more than 4,000 customers.

In October last year, Kookmin Bank established a dedicated counseling team consisting of debt adjustment specialists and also built a process that allows customers to conveniently apply for debt adjustment via mobile. Customers seeking debt adjustment can easily apply through the 'KB Star Banking' or 'KB Business Star Banking' applications (apps) and receive customized counseling tailored to their individual circumstances from professional staff.

A Kookmin Bank representative stated, "This initiative is aimed at supporting the real recovery of people who are facing temporary difficulties due to unmanageable debt and delinquency," and added, "KB Kookmin Bank will do its utmost to stand by the people so that they do not lose hope or courage and can dream of a better tomorrow."
