The main items to be inspected include: ▲ whether hygiene is properly managed in seafood storage facilities, ▲ whether regular hygiene training is conducted, and ▲ whether the temperature of aquariums storing seafood is appropriate.
Earlier this month, the city conducted a first inspection in cooperation with Gyeonggi Province under the supervision of the National Seafood Quality Management Service, and no violations were found. Through this inspection, the city plans to ensure safety throughout the entire process of seafood distribution and consumption.
Park Byungnam, head of Hwaseong City's Department of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, stated, "In addition to on-site inspections, we will continue to provide education and management so that both citizens and tourists can enjoy food with peace of mind."
The city also urged citizens to strictly follow food poisoning prevention guidelines at home. In particular, it requested compliance with hygiene rules such as: ▲ thoroughly cooking eggs and meat to prevent Salmonella infection, ▲ washing hands, ▲ using separate cooking utensils, and ▲ promptly consuming and refrigerating food after cooking.
