S-OIL announced on the 27th that the cumulative number of customers using its carbon-neutral point service, which is linked to electronic receipts and was introduced for the first time in the domestic oil refining industry, has surpassed 100,000.
This service has been operated in collaboration with the Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute since March 2023. It is a lifestyle campaign that awards 100 won in carbon-neutral points for each electronic receipt issued. It is known that reducing one paper receipt can decrease carbon emissions by about 1.7 grams and waste generation by 0.7 grams.
According to S-OIL, the number of electronic receipts issued through its mobile app 'MY S-OIL' increased from 190,000 in 2023 to a cumulative total of 1.53 million as of now. The number of app installations also grew from 440,000 to 870,000 during the same period, and the number of gas stations where electronic receipts can be used expanded from 351 to 1,700.
Carbon-neutral points can be accumulated by applying to receive electronic receipts through the 'MY S-OIL' app and registering on the carbon-neutral point website. Customers receive 100 won per transaction, up to a maximum of 70,000 won per year, and these points can be used like cash.
An S-OIL representative stated, "We will continue the electronic receipt campaign to save resources and enhance customer convenience, and we will strive to practice ESG management."
