Naju City announced on the 25th that it will begin accepting applications from eligible young people starting on the 28th, with plans to provide a mobile gift certificate worth 300,000 won per quarter.
This program, newly introduced in the eighth municipal administration, is the first of its kind in Gwangju and South Jeolla. It aims to support self-reliance among 24-year-old youth (born in 2001) who participate in community activities by providing income support, thereby strengthening the local community.
Eligible applicants are youth who have resided in Naju City for at least one year as of the announcement date. The program will be operated twice in the second half of this year (the third and fourth quarters).
Applicants must participate in at least one of four areas during the designated period of each quarter: volunteering at welfare facilities or environmental clean-up activities, participating in events hosted or sponsored by Naju City, promoting city policies on social media, or engaging in youth community activities.
Applicants are required to submit an activity plan and a performance report. The city will review the performance and eligibility of applicants and provide a mobile Naju Love Gift Certificate worth 300,000 won per quarter.
The gift certificates must be used at affiliated stores in Naju City within one year of issuance.
Applications for the third quarter will be accepted from the 28th to August 14th, and for the fourth quarter from October 13th to November 12th. Applications can be submitted through the Naju City Youth Center website or at the local administrative welfare centers in each town or township.
The city plans to review the qualifications and activity records of third-quarter applicants by the end of August and select the final recipients in September. Successful applicants will be notified individually.
Yoon Byungtae, Mayor of Naju, stated, "The Youth Vitality Income Support Program is the first youth policy of its kind in Gwangju and South Jeolla. It is not simply financial support, but a policy based on social participation and responsibility, including community service, event participation, and youth community activities. We will continue to communicate with local youth to help them settle in the region with stability."
