The event included an awards ceremony for outstanding partner companies, education on safety and health policies, and presentations on support measures and case studies related to partner company safety and health.
During the event, one company received the grand prize and two companies received excellence awards based on the results of the safety and health evaluation, along with plaques and prize money. In addition, Kim Jutaek, head of the Bucheon branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, provided training on the direction of safety and health policies for the second half of the year. HJ Heavy Industries also shared its current safety and health status, especially its heatwave response safety measures to prevent heat-related illnesses, with its partner companies.
HJ Heavy Industries is conducting a summer safety and health management campaign under the slogan 'No to Heat-Related Illnesses! Water, Shade, and Rest OK!' At construction sites, 'Rest Notification Traffic Lights' have been installed to classify real-time perceived temperatures into yellow (caution), orange (warning), and red (danger), making it easy to understand the appropriate actions for each level.
Depending on the level, mandatory breaks of 10 to 20 minutes are implemented every hour, and outdoor work is shortened or suspended according to workers' health conditions to thoroughly prevent heat-related illnesses. The company also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Lotte Chilsung Beverage for the prevention of heat-related illnesses and conducted a campaign to provide bottled water and other supplies to all sites.
Kim Wan-seok, CEO of HJ Heavy Industries, said, "Strengthening safety and health capabilities together with our partner companies is essential to ensuring the overall safety of construction sites," and added, "Please make every effort to thoroughly share and implement heatwave safety measures so that not a single industrial accident occurs."
