Hyejin Choi finished tied for 14th place at the season's fourth major tournament.
On July 13 (local time), at the Evian Resort Golf Club (par 71, 6,504 yards) in Evian-les-Bains, France, Hyejin Choi shot an even-par 71 in the fourth round of the Amundi Evian Championship on the LPGA Tour (total prize money $8 million), finishing tied for 14th at 8-under-par 276. She was unable to extend her streak of four consecutive top-10 finishes in recent tournaments.
Starting three strokes back in a tie for ninth place, Hyejin Choi traded two birdies and two bogeys. She had a shaky start with a bogey on the par-3 5th hole, but attempted to turn things around with birdies on the 7th and 9th holes. However, after making par on seven consecutive holes, she bogeyed the par-4 17th and missed out on a top-10 finish. She missed the green five times and recorded 31 putts.
Grace Kim (Australia) reduced her score by four strokes to tie World No. 2 Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand) at 14-under-par 270, then clinched victory with an eagle on the second playoff hole, which resumed at the par-5 18th. This marked her second career win, coming two years and three months after her victory at the Lotte Championship in April 2023, and she took home the winner's prize of $1.2 million (approximately 1.65 billion won). Grace Kim also celebrated her first-ever major championship title.
Minjee Lee (Australia), who won the season's third major, the KPMG Women's PGA Championship last month, shot three under par but had to settle for a tie for third at 13-under-par 271. World No. 1 amateur golfer Lottie Woad (England) fired a 7-under-par 64 to join the group tied for third. Andrea Lee finished tied for fifth at 12-under-par 272, while World No. 1 Nelly Korda (USA) tied for 43rd at 1-under-par 283.
Among Korean players, Somi Lee, who was tied for third just one shot back the previous day, dropped two strokes and slipped to a tie for 14th. Narinn An finished tied for 21st at 6-under-par 278, Mihyang Lee tied for 28th at 5-under-par 279, while Hyojoo Kim and Jieun Shin both tied for 31st at 4-under-par 280. Jin Young Ko tied for 35th at 3-under-par 281, Jinhee Lim tied for 38th at 2-under-par 282, KLPGA member Yumin Hwang tied for 49th at even-par 284, and Yoonina tied for 65th at 3-over-par 287.
