HANARO Nuclear Power iSelect ETF Surpasses 300 Billion KRW in Net Assets

NH-Amundi Asset Management announced on June 26 that the net asset value (NAV) of the HANARO Nuclear Power iSelect ETF has surpassed 300 billion KRW.

According to KOSCOM ETF CHECK, as of June 24, the NAV of this ETF was recorded at 302.6 billion KRW. This represents more than a threefold increase in about one month, rising from 95.1 billion KRW on May 23.

The high rate of return appears to be the main driver behind the growth in net assets. As of June 24, the ETF posted returns of 36.21% over one month, 83.03% over three months, and 106.87% over six months. These figures significantly outperform the KOSPI200 Index returns of 21.16%, 18.18%, and 29.35% over the same periods.

Individual investors are also continuing to buy the ETF. This year, individuals have made net purchases of 65.4 billion KRW in the HANARO Nuclear Power iSelect ETF.

The HANARO Nuclear Power iSelect ETF is a product that invests in 20 major domestic companies related to nuclear power. Its portfolio includes Korea Electric Power Corporation, Doosan Enerbility, HD Hyundai Electric, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, LS ELECTRIC, and Hyosung Heavy Industries, among others.

The ETF is also regularly rebalanced. On June 19, the maximum weighting of a single constituent was limited to 15%, and some stocks were replaced. Through this regular adjustment, the weighting of Doosan Enerbility was reduced to around 15%, while G2Power and Vitrotech were removed from the portfolio, and Sungkwang Bend and Taewoong were added.

Kim Seungcheol, Head of ETF Investments at NH-Amundi Asset Management, stated, "Recently, the share prices of domestic nuclear power-related stocks have been rising rapidly," adding, "This can be seen as the early stage of a structurally long-term growth driven by the transition of energy infrastructure." He continued, "The global surge in AI-related investments has triggered demand for nuclear power investment, which is likely to continue for several years," and emphasized, "Long-term investment remains valid."
