In the men's weekly world golf rankings announced on the 22nd (local time), he received 0.5288 points, soaring 108 spots from last week's 379th place. He accumulated these points by winning the 68th KPGA Championship (total prize money of 1.6 billion won), which concluded the previous day at A-One CC in Yangsan, Gyeongnam. Having finished in the top 5 for three consecutive tournaments recently, he now leads the KPGA Tour in prize money, Genesis Points, and scoring average this year.
Scottie Scheffler (United States), Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), and Xander Schauffele (United States) maintained their positions in the top three. Keegan Bradley (United States), who won the Travelers Championship, a PGA Tour Signature Event, jumped 14 places from last week's 21st to 7th, entering the world top 10 for the first time.
