The Karakalpakstan Autonomous Republic accounts for 37% of Uzbekistan's total area, which is 1.7 times the size of South Korea, and has a population of approximately 2 million, with about 500,000 people reportedly living in the capital city of Nukus.
The Ecobio Holdings delegation visited Nukus, the capital of the Karakalpakstan Autonomous Republic, and paid a courtesy call on Amanbay Orinbayev, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic. They held extensive discussions regarding waste treatment and resource utilization strategies in Karakalpakstan, investment attraction plans, bio-sulfur supply measures, and AI-related talent development. In addition, they agreed to closely cooperate on the commercialization of a supply chain for renewable energy through biogas production and upgrading using organic waste such as municipal solid waste, livestock manure, and agricultural by-products in Nukus, as well as on carbon credit projects.
Guzal Shamratova, Advisor to the Karakalpakstan Autonomous Republic, who facilitated Ecobio Holdings' visit, reportedly expressed high expectations for improvements in waste treatment, securing renewable energy, and land reclamation using bio-sulfur in the Karakalpakstan Autonomous Republic through Ecobio Holdings' business experience and technology.
An Ecobio Holdings representative stated, "We plan to gradually establish a sustainable cooperation system for environmental improvement and greenhouse gas reduction in the Karakalpakstan Autonomous Republic by applying the optimal technology, based on approximately 30 years of expertise and technology in the domestic biogas resource utilization business."
