KOSPI Drops Over 1% and KOSDAQ Falls More Than 3% During Trading Hours
The Office of the President convened an emergency economic security review meeting on June 13 in response to Israel's airstrike on Iran.
The meeting, held at 12:30 p.m. that day, is expected to comprehensively assess the impact of instability in the Middle East, triggered by Israel's airstrike on Iran, on the domestic economy and other areas, and to discuss future countermeasures.
On this day, Israel deployed dozens of fighter jets to strike Iranian nuclear facilities. Following this news, Asian stock markets broadly declined, and international oil prices also surged. The KOSPI index has seen its intraday losses widen to more than 1%.
