On June 12, JoongAng Group announced that it had selected Naver as the preferred negotiator for the new media broadcasting rights in the bidding process for broadcasting rights operators. The decision was based on Naver's plans to provide a wide range of content and services, including real-time live broadcasts of all matches, AI-powered highlight videos, and features such as "Chzzzik" watch parties.

Going forward, the two companies will build an integrated broadcasting platform that encompasses both traditional broadcasting and digital media. This will move away from the conventional terrestrial broadcasting model, where viewers could only watch a limited selection of matches chosen by broadcasters, and instead create an environment where all matches and events can be freely enjoyed at any time.

Previously, JoongAng Group secured the exclusive broadcasting rights in Korea for both the Summer and Winter Olympics from 2026 to 2032, as well as the FIFA World Cup tournaments to be held in 2026 and 2030.
