According to the Sangju City Public Health Center, since February this year, starting with Sacheon City in Gyeongnam, a series of visits have been made by trainees from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Local Government Human Resources Development Institute, as well as officials from local governments across the country, including Daejeon Metropolitan City.

As the expansion of postpartum care infrastructure has become a major topic, Sangju City's successful operational model is now being benchmarked by other regions.

The Sangju City Public Postpartum Care Center, which opened in December 2023, boasts the largest scale in Gyeongbuk Province and provides safe and systematic postpartum care services for mothers and newborns, based on state-of-the-art facilities and skilled professionals.

In particular, the center has demonstrated high satisfaction and demand, with early reservations being fully booked every month.

Sangju City shares information with visiting groups on the operation status of the center, the progress of policy implementation, and facility introduction videos. Through Q&A sessions and policy discussions, the city is creating opportunities for information exchange and cooperation regarding childbirth policy directions in each region.

Kim Minseon, Director of Health Promotion, stated, "We will do our best to improve the local childbirth environment through the public postpartum care center and create a space where mothers and newborns can stay with peace of mind," adding, "We will continue to enhance our services and operate with a user-centered approach to establish the public postpartum care center as a model example."

Sangju City plans to accelerate its efforts to become a 'city that is good for giving birth and raising children' by expanding proactive health policies and customized services for childbirth and childcare in response to the era of low birth rates.
