"We Take the Stage Too"... Jeonnam Office of Education Launches Student Participation Musical

Touring Performances Until December: Digital Sex Crime Prevention Education
"Expanding Sustainable, Student-Led Gender Sensitivity Education"

The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on June 12 that it will operate a touring performance of the 'Student Participation Digital Gender Sensitivity Education Specialized Musical,' starting in Haenam and Jangheung and continuing until December.

This performance was planned to protect students from digital sex crimes, to support the recovery of victims, and to spread a culture of empathy among peers. Unlike traditional performances, students directly participate on stage, with the focus on naturally enhancing students' gender sensitivity beyond simply providing sex crime prevention education.

The production addresses the realities of digital sex crimes, response strategies, and peer empathy and solidarity. It is an original play designed to be relatable and immersive for students. In particular, some scenes involve student audience members joining the actors on stage to continue the play together, and at the end of the performance, everyone participates in a pledge ceremony to promise 'consideration and respect.'

The Provincial Office of Education selected the regions for the performances based on digital sex crime statistics and the needs of schools in the field, and is carrying out the performances sequentially with the active cooperation of each education support office and school. In particular, the office plans to further develop this touring performance into a continuous cultural and arts education program, rather than a one-time event.

Kim Hobum, Director of Student Life Education, emphasized, "Education led by students is more effective," and added, "We will continue to expand gender sensitivity education in which students participate voluntarily, striving to create a safe and equitable school culture."
