Shining Collaboration with Konkuk University... Posco Steelion Accelerates AI Design Partnership and Nurturing of Future Designers

On June 11, Posco Steelion held the results presentation and award ceremony for the '2025 Posco Steelion-Konkuk University Design Industry-Academic Cooperation' project at the Posco Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, igniting momentum for AI-driven design innovation and the cultivation of future designers.

In March, Posco Steelion and Konkuk University signed an industry-academic cooperation MOU for the joint development of designs for Posco Steelion's premium color steel sheet, 'INFINELI,' and have since been carrying out a practical project aimed at developing new color steel sheet designs for home appliances targeting the Indian market.

This project, under the theme of 'AI-Based Advanced Design Development,' focused on enabling students to combine their unique design ideas with AI technology to create innovative outcomes.

Conducted over approximately three months from March to June 4, the project allowed students to gain hands-on experience and develop expertise through a variety of workshops and mentoring sessions.

Posco Steelion expects that this project will not only provide valuable practical experience and career development opportunities for university students aspiring to become designers, but will also lead to the production of products that can meet the diverse needs of consumers.

During the award ceremony, a total of five students who presented outstanding designs, as evaluated by the panel of judges, received scholarships and certificates totaling 10 million KRW.

A Posco Steelion representative stated, "We plan to continue promoting design industry-academic cooperation for university students to nurture future generations," and added, "We will further develop industry-academic cooperation so that it becomes a valuable experience for young people who dream of becoming future designers."

Posco Steelion plans to provide university students with practical experience and support innovative design development through various industry-academic cooperation programs.
