Woori Financial Group's Woori Financial Future Foundation announced on June 12 that it has launched "Woori Sigak Season 2," a program aimed at nurturing artists with developmental disabilities.

"Woori Sigak" is a program designed to discover and support emerging artists with developmental disabilities who aspire to become professional artists. Since last year, in collaboration with the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, a professional cultural and arts institution, the program has selected 10 artists each year, providing each with 10 million KRW in preparation funds for artistic activities and access to a specialized creative program.

On June 10, a selection ceremony was held at Cheongnyeon Yesulcheong in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, to mark the start of "Woori Sigak Season 2." This year, the final 10 emerging artists were selected through document screening and practical evaluations, with comprehensive consideration given to artistic talent, growth potential, and independent work capability.

The selected artists will participate in a variety of creative art activities aimed at enhancing their practical creative skills, including more than 20 sessions of one-on-one professional mentoring, the creation of individual portfolios, and educational programs to help both the selected artists and their supporters better understand the art industry. Through these initiatives, the artists will receive systematic support to help them grow into professional artists.

A representative from the Woori Financial Future Foundation stated, "Through 'Woori Sigak Season 1,' we achieved the milestone of producing a resident artist at the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture's Seoul Disability Arts Creation Center," adding, "Going forward, Woori Financial will continue to serve as a strong stepping stone to help artists with developmental disabilities grow as professional artists."

Meanwhile, the Woori Financial Future Foundation is also working to create a job ecosystem for people with developmental disabilities by establishing "Goodwill Store" locations and operating "Goodwill Donation Boxes" at Woori Bank branches. In addition, the foundation is practicing the values of inclusive finance and warm sharing through a range of social contribution activities for vulnerable groups, such as "Woori Rookie," which supports vision and hearing surgeries for children and adolescents from low-income families, and "Woori Wonder Family," which helps underage single parents become self-reliant.
