This project aims to promote urban regeneration at the village level in areas that have suffered large-scale disaster damage to housing, infrastructure, and agricultural facilities, focusing on the recovery of local communities.
This Special Regeneration Project was proposed by Cheongsong County to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to prevent community decline and economic collapse in Bugok-ri, Cheongsong-eup, which suffered significant damage from wildfires. Through the project, Cheongsong County plans to improve housing and infrastructure in the Bugok-ri area of Cheongsong-eup and to promote community revitalization by establishing disaster response infrastructure.
In particular, Bugok-ri in Cheongsong-eup is a renowned tourist destination representing Cheongsong, famous for the Dalki Mineral Spring. The county also plans to promote eco-valley tourism centered on Dalki Mineral Spring, combining healing and wellness experiences.
As a designated Special Regeneration Area, Cheongsong County will receive 4 billion KRW in national funding. The county will first carry out the preparation of a Special Regeneration Plan and undertake urgent restoration work to prevent secondary damage, including emergency repairs and landslide prevention.
In addition, during the process of formulating the Special Regeneration Plan, the county will specify detailed project directions and the total project budget, with plans to request approval for the Special Regeneration Plan in the first half of next year.
County Governor Yoon Kyunghee stated, "We will do our utmost to rebuild Bugok-ri, prioritizing the stable recovery of residents' daily lives," and added, "We ask for the interest and cooperation of all residents for the successful implementation of the Special Regeneration Project."
