In a super-aged society, the concept of "slowly and naturally aging" is increasingly recognized as an important value, with "slow aging" emerging as a key trend.
Shinsegae Centum City is presenting products aligned with this trend through the "Start Fresh, Live Better" event at its food market, which runs until June 15.
In fact, since the beginning of this year, grocery sales have grown by nearly 20% compared to the same period last year. During this period, sales of olive oil and balsamic vinegar?known for their lower calories compared to regular products and their benefits for dieting?have increased by more than 30% among female customers in their 20s and 30s.
First, olive oil, which is known to help with antioxidant effects, cardiovascular health improvement, and inflammation reduction, is considered an "essential item" in a slow aging diet.
Recently, a health trend of consuming a spoonful of olive oil on an empty stomach in the morning has gained popularity, further boosting demand.
In response, the store is introducing "Zucchi Extra Virgin Olive Oil" (500ml), which boasts a fresh flavor and rich nutrients thanks to cold-press extraction, for 20,800 KRW. Extra virgin olive oil is the highest grade, minimally processed oil, containing more beneficial components for health than regular olive oil.
Balsamic vinegar is also known to slow sugar absorption and promote digestion. "White Condimento 5 Grape" (250ml) is a balsamic vinegar with a rich sweetness and gentle acidity, available for 21,500 KRW.
Additionally, kiwi, widely recognized as a representative slow aging food, is low in sugar relative to calories and rich in fiber in its skin, supporting gut health. Among kiwis, the "Gold Kiwi" (one pack, four pieces), which is high in vitamin C, is being sold for 16,800 KRW.
During the event period, the Shinsegae Department Store application will offer a 10,000 KRW discount coupon on a first-come, first-served basis for use on single health brands such as supplements, when customers make a same-day purchase of 100,000 KRW or more with a Shinsegae partner card.
Shinsegae Centum City plans to continue introducing a wide variety of related products, reflecting the growing number of consumers interested in health and slow aging.
