Kim Moonsoo Launches 90-Hour Nonstop Campaign, Focusing on Seoul Metropolitan Area

People Power Party Forms "Lee Jaemyung Family Corruption Investigation Task Force"

Kim Moonsoo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, will embark on a 90-hour nonstop overnight campaign tour starting on the 30th, four days ahead of the presidential election.

Jang Donghyuk, head of the General Situation Room of the People Power Party's Central Election Countermeasures Committee, held a press conference at the party headquarters in Yeouido on the 29th and announced, "From Friday until the end of the campaign period, Kim will not return home and will conduct a 90-hour nonstop overnight campaign outside."

Kim plans to campaign in Gangwon and Jeonnam for the remaining period, then focus on the Seoul metropolitan area. Jang explained, "Kim achieved many accomplishments during his two terms as governor of Gyeonggi Province," and added, "Since Lee Jaemyung, the opposing candidate, is involved in the Daejangdong and Baekhyeondong corruption scandals and is currently on trial, focusing on Gyeonggi Province is a strategy that can enhance Kim's competitiveness due to the stark contrast between the two."

Regarding the possibility of unifying candidacies with Lee Junseok, the Reform Party's presidential candidate, Jang stated, "As the issue of unification has become a major topic in the media, we must ensure that Kim does not get overshadowed," and added, "While the possibility of unification remains open, it is not appropriate for all issues to be drawn into this matter by fixating solely on unification."

Meanwhile, the People Power Party has formed a task force to investigate alleged family corruption involving Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, including his son's past sexually offensive remarks and illegal gambling suspicions. Representative Joo Jinwoo, a member of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, will lead the task force, which will also include legal professionals and experts.
