[Market Focus] Profit-Turnaround "Hyojaping"... SAMG Entertainment Hits New Highs

SAMG Entertainment is experiencing strong gains for the second consecutive day. This is interpreted as an improvement in investor sentiment following the company's successful turnaround to profitability in operating income during the first quarter.

As of 9:06 a.m. on May 15, SAMG Entertainment was trading at 60,800 won, up 19.69% (10,000 won) from the previous day. At one point during the session, the stock surged to 63,500 won, setting a new 52-week high. This marks two consecutive days of gains, following the previous day's upper limit after the announcement of strong earnings.

For the first quarter of this year, SAMG Entertainment reported consolidated sales of 35.7 billion won, operating income of 6.29 billion won, and net income of 5.67 billion won. In particular, sales increased by approximately 41% compared to the same period last year, and the company maintained profitability for the second consecutive quarter following the turnaround in the fourth quarter of last year, demonstrating a tangible improvement in profitability.

Notably, licensing revenue grew by approximately 103% year-on-year to reach 7.6 billion won. The character IP from the film "Love's Hachuping," released in August last year, played a significant role as its appeal expanded from the kids segment to all age groups. In addition, collaborations with global companies such as Hyundai Motor, Kia Tigers, SM Entertainment, and Devsisters (Cookie Run) have also helped drive the expansion of the company's brand value.

Kim Suhoon, CEO of SAMG Entertainment, stated, "The overall performance has improved thanks to the balanced increase in brand value of our major IPs such as 'Catch! Teenieping' and 'Metal Cardbot,' as well as the establishment of distribution networks and platform systems based on big data.
