Yeongdeungpo District (District Mayor Choi Hokwon) announced that it will officially launch the activities of the 'Yeongrihan Salpimdan' to identify neighbors in crisis who are in welfare blind spots and to quickly connect them with welfare services.

The 'Yeong (Yeongdeungpo) · Ri (Neighbors) · Han (Together) Salpimdan' is an on-site crisis household identification group, composed of residents who are well-acquainted with local circumstances and highly motivated to participate. The name reflects the idea that neighbors proactively look after those around them.

The district has appointed 51 residents, who have now begun their activities in earnest. These members will identify invisible crisis households through on-site visits, resident reports, and collaboration with local community centers, and will guide neighbors who are not receiving public services due to lack of information to the appropriate welfare programs.

In particular, the focus is on proactively identifying high-risk households, such as single-person households at risk of isolation, middle-aged individuals facing complex difficulties, and those living in temporary accommodations. To this end, the district is collaborating with local facilities closely linked to daily life?including hospitals, pharmacies, laundromats, supermarkets, and convenience stores?to post promotional materials and conduct campaigns, thereby encouraging the interest and participation of local residents.

Additionally, the district has designated residentially vulnerable areas such as Gosiwon (small rooming houses), inns, motels, and jjokbangchon (shantytown areas) as key areas for intensive management. By assessing the actual living conditions in these areas, the district aims to identify socially isolated households early and strengthen their connection to public services.

Going forward, the district plans to further vitalize the operation of the Salpimdan by recognizing volunteer hours and awarding commendations to members who are particularly active.

Choi Hokwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, stated, "The Yeongrihan Salpimdan serves as the reliable eyes on the ground, able to detect crises among our neighbors before anyone else," and added, "We will work with local residents to build a tight-knit welfare safety net so that no one is left out of welfare benefits."
