Toss Bank will participate in the global "Common Good" campaign, jointly organized by the BBC in the UK and B Lab Global, as the first Asian company to do so. This campaign is centered on the theme of "Business for a Better Society."
The campaign, co-planned and produced by BBC StoryWorks and B Lab, will begin on May 14, 2025. Starting May 19, 2025, a series of mini-documentaries will be released weekly, each focusing on a different company. The films will highlight the practices and philosophies of various companies with a focus on sustainability, inclusiveness, and innovation. The campaign clearly demonstrates how business can have a positive impact on society and the environment, going beyond mere corporate profit to contribute to a better world.
Toss Bank is featured as the first company in the campaign. Since its launch, Toss Bank has grown with innovation as its core identity, significantly increasing accessibility for customers regardless of age, gender, or nationality. As a result, the boundaries of inclusion have been broken down.
B Corp is a certification awarded by B Lab, a U.S.-based nonprofit organization established in 2006, following a rigorous verification process. It is given to companies that pursue a balanced approach to both financial and social value. Companies are certified as B Corps after a comprehensive assessment of transparency, social responsibility, and social and environmental performance. As of April 2025, a total of 9,649 companies across 161 industries in 102 countries worldwide have received B Corp certification.
Toss Bank is the first bank in Korea to receive B Corp certification, and the second bank in Asia to do so. The bank achieved a high certification score of 95.6 points. To obtain certification, a company must score at least 80 points. Since the average score for most certified companies is known to be in the low 80s, Toss Bank is regarded as having received a high score relative to its scale of growth.
The campaign features trusted brands from around the world. These include Natura&Co, the world's fourth-largest beauty company and the largest in Brazil, which created renowned cosmetic brands such as Aesop and The Body Shop; and Secrid, a leading Dutch brand with over 8,500 stores worldwide. In addition, 18 B Corp-certified companies from various industries?including manufacturing, consulting, and finance?that have driven sustainability and change globally have been selected to appear in the campaign.
A Toss Bank representative stated, "It is extremely valuable and meaningful that Toss Bank is the only Asian company to participate in this campaign. We will continue to share our direction and values on the global stage and fulfill our social responsibilities going forward."
