Yangsan City to Operate Final Filing Period for Individual Local Income Tax in May

Yangsan City, Gyeongnam will operate a final filing period for individual local income tax from May 1 to June 2, allowing taxpayers to file both individual local income tax and comprehensive income tax (national tax) simultaneously.

Taxpayers with comprehensive income for the 2024 tax year must file and pay both comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax by June 2. These taxes can be conveniently filed through Hometax and Wetax, respectively.

To assist taxpayers who find electronic filing difficult, Yangsan City will operate joint filing centers where both comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax can be filed at the Yangsan Business Center, Yangsan Tax Office, and Woongsang Branch Office (from May 22 to June 2).

The joint filing centers will provide filing support to "Moduchaeum" taxpayers. "Moduchaeum" taxpayers are small business owners and others whose comprehensive income tax filing is simple; these taxpayers receive a notice from the National Tax Service with all fields pre-filled, from total income to final tax amount due.

In addition, "Moduchaeum" taxpayers can file and pay conveniently by following the instructions in the notice, without visiting the joint filing centers. If there are no corrections needed to the information in the notice, comprehensive income tax can be filed by phone, and individual local income tax can be paid to the virtual account listed in the notice. In this case, the filing and payment will be considered completed within the deadline without any additional procedures.

Furthermore, Yangsan City will provide additional convenience by automatically extending the payment deadline to September 1 for taxpayers in special disaster areas, including export-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises, victims and bereaved families of the Jeju Air passenger plane accident, and those in areas affected by wildfires.

An official from Yangsan City stated, "We sincerely thank all taxpayers who pay faithfully every year, and we kindly ask that you also file and pay your individual local income tax within the deadline in May."
