Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province is establishing a government-academia cooperation system with local universities to promote regional development and foster talent.

On April 29, Anseong City signed a business agreement at City Hall with five local universities to implement the Regional Innovation-Centered University Support System (RISE) project. The RISE project aims to position universities as hubs of regional innovation, building a foundation for local community development and the cultivation of future talent.

The agreement includes participation from Hankyong National University, Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts, Chung-Ang University Davinci Campus, Doowon Technical University College, and Korea Polytechnic University Semiconductor Convergence Campus.

Through this agreement, the city and the universities will cooperate in several areas: jointly operating education programs and youth talent development initiatives based on local needs; establishing a regionally connected talent growth model through industry-academia cooperation, field training, and startup support; and conducting joint research and identifying practical projects to address local community issues.

Kim Bora, Mayor of Anseong, stated, "This agreement marks an important starting point for Anseong City and the universities to join forces in achieving regional innovation, university development, and youth settlement. We will strive to create changes that both the region and universities can experience and that all citizens can truly feel."
