Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Eastern Gyeongnam KOSHA Hold Safety and Health Capacity-Building Training for Specialized Construction Field Managers

The Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor (Director Kwon Guhyung) and the Eastern Gyeongnam Branch of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency conducted safety and health training on April 29 for approximately 80 field managers from local specialized construction companies.

This training was organized with the aim of strengthening the safety management capabilities of mid-level managers and establishing a safety culture at construction sites, in response to recent large-scale construction site fires and serious industrial accidents.

The training covered topics such as understanding the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, methods for establishing a safety and health management system, and both theoretical and practical risk assessment. Expert instructors from the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the agency participated to deliver practical, field-oriented content.

In particular, the program also included training on fire prevention and prevention of wage arrears, supporting field managers in preparing for various safety issues. The organizers expect this to have a tangible effect on accident prevention and plan to continue field manager-focused training in the second half of the year.

Director Kwon Guhyung emphasized, "Through this academy, we aim to raise the safety standards at specialized construction sites and hope that mid-level managers will take an active interest and fulfill their roles as safety leaders who connect workers and managers."
