The Yeonhyangdeul urban development project, promoted by Suncheon City in South Jeolla Province (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu), is progressing smoothly with the goal of breaking ground within this year.
The Yeonhyangdeul urban development project is a large-scale initiative to develop a total area of 488,459 square meters (approximately 148,000 pyeong) in Yeonhyang-dong and Daean-ri, Haeryong-myeon by 2028. The project aims to create a new landmark for Suncheon by introducing accommodations such as hotels and resorts, multi-family housing, and community convenience facilities.
After the announcement of the district designation and development plan approval at the end of February, the city immediately began the full-scale compensation process and has completed 65% of the first round of negotiated compensation.
In addition, the city has proactively established funding measures, such as formulating a pre-sale strategy, to ensure the stability of the project. Once the ongoing detailed design is completed, the city plans to proceed with phased pre-sales in conjunction with the groundbreaking within this year.
A city official stated, "Yeonhyangdeul is not only adjacent to Suncheonman National Garden, but also boasts excellent accessibility, making it the future hub of Suncheon. Through Yeonhyangdeul, we will do our utmost to enhance Suncheon's urban competitiveness and expand diverse infrastructure that all citizens can benefit from."
