Since then, the city has pursued various infrastructure projects, including the Ujeonkke Urban Regeneration Community Center, Songjeong Cultural Center, Songjeong Small Gymnasium, and the Safe Village Creation Project.
In particular, the Ujeonkke Urban Regeneration Community Center was a pledge project of the 8th popularly elected administration. It was developed by integrating the public parking lot site at 101-27 Songjeongdong, an area that once hosted a cattle market. Construction began in August 2023 and, after approximately 21 months, was completed on April 24.
The Community Center consists of two underground floors and three above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 3,449 square meters. The parking lot, which accommodates 80 vehicles, spans from the second basement level to the first floor. The second floor houses a win-win cooperation store, retail shops, a Happy Village management office, and a senior classroom. The third floor features the Urban Regeneration Support Center, a small library, an all-together care center, and a shared kitchen, among other community facilities. In addition, symbolic monuments and promotional facilities representing Ujeonkke have been installed in the landscaped area, providing citizens with a place to relax and enjoy, thereby contributing to an improved quality of life.
Mayor Bang Sehwan stated, "We expect the newly completed Community Center to serve as a bridge connecting Ujeonkke Village, roadside commercial areas, and bus stops, greatly contributing to the improvement of cultural and welfare environments and the revitalization of community networks." He also urged, "Please ensure thorough management and operation so that the center can enhance convenience for residents and become a hub for community participation and communication."
Meanwhile, the All-Together Care Center, small library, and senior classroom, which are scheduled to open in the Community Center, will each undergo individual remodeling from May to August and are set to open sequentially starting in September.
