On April 29, Hyundai Motor Company unveiled the New XCIENT Fuel Cell Truck, which features enhanced safety and convenience, at the ACT Expo, officially announcing its launch in the North American market.

Hyundai Motor is accelerating the expansion of its hydrogen business in North America, including the operation of the large commercial vehicle-dedicated hydrogen and electric integrated charging hub, 'HTWO Energy Savannah,' which will begin operations in the second half of this year.

From April 28 to May 1 (local time), Hyundai Motor is showcasing the Xcient hydrogen electric truck at 'ACT Expo 2025,' held at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, officially launching it in the North American market.

Hyundai Motor actively incorporated feedback from North American customers on the previous model during the development process and introduced the new Xcient hydrogen electric truck. The vehicle underwent suitability tests considering the diverse and extensive terrain and climate conditions of the North American region.

By improving the hydrogen fuel cell system, the vehicle's output has been enhanced. In addition, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, and Smart Cruise Control?features not previously available on Xcient hydrogen electric trucks sold in North America?have now been newly applied to improve safety.

At the same time, Hyundai Motor also announced plans to operate 'HTWO Energy,' a new energy business platform capable of charging both hydrogen and electricity. Initially, Hyundai Motor will establish 'HTWO Energy Savannah' near Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) in Ellabell, Georgia.

'HTWO Energy Savannah,' which will operate as a facility dedicated to large commercial vehicles, will be built in collaboration with local partners such as HydroFleet, which is responsible for hydrogen production and supply, as well as investment and operation of charging equipment and facilities.

This site will be capable of producing and charging 1,200 kg of hydrogen per day, enough to fully refuel approximately 17 new Xcient hydrogen electric trucks. The hydrogen supply capacity is designed to be expandable up to a maximum of 4,200 kg per day.

'HTWO Energy Savannah' will begin full-scale operations in the second half of this year and will operate 24 hours a day. In the future, electric charging facilities will also be added.

Ken Ramirez, Vice President of Hyundai Motor Global Commercial and Hydrogen Business Division, stated, "With the Xcient hydrogen electric truck, which offers enhanced safety and convenience, we will redefine the future of clean logistics in North America. Centered around HTWO, we will lead the establishment of the North American hydrogen ecosystem by collaborating not only with our group affiliates but also with local partners."
