Geochang County, Gyeongnam Province, will be accepting advance applications from 200 participants for the "2nd Changpowon Barefoot Walking Event 2025," aimed at overcoming dementia and preventing chronic diseases, from May 1 to May 10.
The "2nd Changpowon Barefoot Walking Event," hosted by the Geochang County Public Health Center, will be held in conjunction with the "On Spring Festival in Geochang" on Saturday, May 17, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Changpowon Lawn Plaza and the Barefoot Walking Course. Finishers will receive a commemorative gift.
Advance registration is available for the first 200 people via Naver Form and QR code. Those who do not register in advance may also sign up on-site on the day of the event.
Members of the National Barefoot Walking Movement Headquarters can apply separately in advance, with up to 400 participants accepted until May 10. Applications can be submitted via Naver Form, QR code, or on-site registration on the day of the event.
County Governor Koo Inmo stated, "I hope that the atmosphere of the barefoot walking event will encourage people to practice barefoot walking regularly, which will help prevent chronic diseases," and added, "We ask for your continued interest and participation to ensure the ongoing hosting and activation of barefoot walking events."
Meanwhile, alongside the barefoot walking event, an Integrated Health Promotion Promotion Center will be operated from May 16 to May 18, offering a variety of health information and health promotion programs, including: ▲ education on smoking cessation, alcohol moderation, nutrition, and oral health ▲ blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol measurement and guidance on normal levels ▲ dementia awareness education and accurate information ▲ mental health and suicide prevention OX quiz, among other activities.
