300 Tons of Water Leak in Chipyeong-dong
No Casualties Reported
At approximately 1:35 a.m. on April 29, a water pipe leakage occurred at the Gwangju Metro Line 2 construction site in Chipyeong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju.
According to the Gwangju Waterworks Headquarters, about 300 tons of water burst out when a 400mm diameter water pipe joint became misaligned.
Fortunately, because the incident occurred in the early morning hours, there were no casualties, and no water supply disruptions have been reported so far. The city plans to complete restoration by the morning of the same day.
